Head Coach Roger French has completed his second year at Engadine Schools.  During his first season of coaching, his team beat Brimley, a team who had advanced to the Regional Finals in Class D.  He also had two players receive All-State selections through the Basketball Coaches' Association of Michigan (which he is a member of) during 2010-11 and 2011-12, two players receive 2011-12 Individual All-State Academic Awards and his team receive Honorable Mention in the 2011-12 Academic All-State award selection. In addition, he had one player selected in 2011-12 to participate in the All-Star game at The Palace of Auburn Hills in August.  He has also coached youth soccer for the Engadine Soccer Association (founded by Yvette Leveille Pawlowski '82).

Coach French graduated from Newberry High School in 1990.  After graduation, he attended Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan receiving a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Psychology.  During college, Mr. French played basketball under Coach Elders.  He also coached soccer and basketball at the local YMCA during summer camps.

Since that time, Coach French has worked for the State of Michigan Department of Corrections for 17 years.  He and his wife, Sharon, a '93 graduate of EHS, have three children who attend Engadine Schools:  Hannah, Drew and Leah.  Today, we welcome the newest member of his family, Oliver.
