JOSEPH STIMAC, JR
1906-1981
Joseph Stimac, Jr. was born in Yugoslavia on March 30,1906. He had one sister, Dera Butkovich. They came to this country on a ship when she was seven and he was fifteen . What an historic event! When he was a boy his chores were feeding animals on their farm and cutting wood. He liked to play horseshoes, ball games and cards. Joseph walked to a school near by the church with several grades in only one room. His classes were reading ,writing ,math ,history, penmanship, and English.
As he got older, he enjoyed working for the Soo Line Railroad for forty- seven years. Josephs hobbies were hunting and fishing. He got married on December 31,1955,to Antonia Oskmok, and they were married until his death.
He also served in the army during World War 1. Joseph was best remembered for being so much fun on trips. His goals for the future were to make a better life for himself, his wife, and his parents.
